Last week the community contributed two new Typesafe Activator templates that are helping developers learn how to build modern web apps with the Typesafe Platform. Matthias Nehlsen’s SSE Chat Template with AngularJS template and Jan Machacek's Akka and Spray template are fantastic additions to the growing list of Activator templates. It's fantastic to see these types of contributions flowing in, it will truly help the developer community get started building reactive applications with the Play Framework, Akka, and Scala.

If you've never used Activator, it's a local web and command-line tool that helps developers get started with Typesafe Platform. We encourage you to check out the developer preview and get started with one of the 16 template applications. To create a new Typesafe Activator template, start with the Template Template. Once you publish your template on GitHub you can contribute it!

A big thanks to all who have already submitted templates! Let us know if you have any questions about the process.
