Lightbend is in the business of delivering frameworks and tools that drive the Reactive (www.reactivemanifesto.org) mantra forward, and when it came time to define a layer of service deployment that drives high resource utilization, enterprise security features and a vibrant ecosystem of like-minded technologies, we selected DC/OS, both as the primary deployment framework for our new Fast Data Platform and the Lightbend Production Suite. By using DC/OS, Lightbend extends its ability to provide elastic, responsive, resilient, message driven systems on a platform that is purpose built for running stateful big data applications and microservices technologies.  

Akka, our flagship distributed runtime, and its companion frameworks Play, and Lagom, rely on DC/OS heavily for enterprise deployment.  Along with the Lightbend Production Suite, DC/OS provides safe, reliable deployment targets, both in terms of cloud deployable DC/OS clusters and local data center systems to ensure that its high performance asynchronous messaging architecture has the resources, metrics and flexibility to scale to meet an application's needs.

Lightbend’s Fast Data Platform is a purpose built system designed to provide an aggregation of streaming frameworks and tools to simplify the deployment of all major streams processing technology frameworks: Apache Spark, Apache Flink, Apache Kafka, Akka Streams, and provide enterprise grade telemetry, monitoring, operations management and machine learning assisted system level auto-scaling.  

It's the expression of Reactive at the cluster and system level rather than the application or framework level. It would not be possible without DC/OS and more importantly the continued progress we see in Mesosphere's latest release of DC/OS 1.9, including improved cluster metrics we use for auto-scaling, and system health, the addition of Pods for multiple collocated containers per instance. Not to mention the constant security and networks improvements that are part of an enterprise grade technology stack.

To put it simply, DC/OS is the backbone of how we deploy our technology with customers in mind, and we trust DC/OS to remove the roadblocks of where to deploy in terms of the cloud or local or hybrid cloud. With DC/OS it runs and it runs well, anywhere.
